How To Make Your Hardwood Floor Last

We are hoping to make it easier for you to maintain your hardwood floor as clean as possible. In most cases it is difficult to keep your hardwood floor polished, but the most important thing to do is clean it properly, to ensure longevity. Here are some tips to keep your hardwood floors in perfect condition:

1. Always keep your hardwood floor dry

The simplest things can ruin your hardwood flooring. You may think that cleaning it with pin sol mixed with water is going to help the floor, but in reality it's not. This will cause the wood to absorb the water, and you will decrease the quality of your flooring when the wood begins to warp, depending on the conditions it can possibly rot your floor.

2. Do not vacuum your floor

Cleaning your floor with a vacuum is not always a great idea. Vacuuming your hardwood floor is only going to damage it and cause scratches. Most vacuums usually have metallic components that can easily roughen and will eventually harm the floor. A better solution to cleaning the floor, is looking into buying a microfiber cloth. This easily attracts and picks up dirt, not only are they helpful but they are also washable, that way you don't have to worry about cleaning out the nasty vacuum bag.
